Over The Counter Male Yeast Infection Treatments

Yeast Infection Treatment Over The Counter

Are you a female looking for a yeast infection treatment leading to a fast, permanent cure? Then you've landed lucky! Here, you'll discover how to naturally eliminate your symptoms and prevent recurring infections from damaging your health and disrupting your life.

Female yeast infection can occur in any part of the body, but by far the most common is in and around the vagina...

VAGINAL YEAST INFECTION SYMPTOMS

Female yeast infection symptoms include the following; cottage-cheese-type discharge, swelling and inflammation, chronic itching, redness, painful sex, pain when urinating, burning sensation, etc.

YEAST INFECTION CAUSES

And the cause is the same for women and men; the candida albicans fungus that can be found quite naturally in our bodies. This is a yeast-like flora that doesn't cause you any harm, as long as your body's good bacteria keeps it in check, as it does nearly all of the time.

But there are occasions when your friendly bacteria numbers become depleted and / or the candida flora manages to overcome your good bacteria for some reason. When either of these scenarios happens, the candida can 'overgrow' out of control. It is this that causes your horrible symptoms.

MAINSTREAM FEMALE YEAST INFECTION TREATMENT

Your normal treatment is either through prescription or over-the-counter medications. These normally consist of creams, lotions, pessaries, etc. that are used to attack the localized symptoms. They can be quite effective in days, or, a week or two, depending on the location and severity of your infection.

But here's the thing; they do a good enough job on the symptoms, but not the root cause(s) of the infection. And the root causes or triggers are the things that either compromise your beneficial bacteria or encourage fungal growth. For example, the use of antibiotics that kill your good bacteria, a lowered immune system that depletes your good bacteria numbers, an unhealthy diet that actually helps to 'feed' the fungus (e.g. sugar), and so on.

NATURAL TREATMENT FOR YEAST INFECTION IN FEMALES

So this, along with the ongoing cost and negative side effects of these medications, is why so many women are turning in droves to natural yeast infection remedies. These are largely much safer, cheaper and more effective than drugs at both eliminating the symptoms of your yeast infection, and, preventing recurring yeast infections from damaging your health and seriously disrupting your life and relationships.

Typical home remedies are the use of natural things such as plain yogurt, honey, raw apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil, garlic, etc. which are applied over the infection. There are many more, but too many to describe in this short article.

But, apart from the natural remedies, there are also the crucial steps and even lifestyle changes you must take as well. Generally speaking, these are to help combat the effects of the underlying causes previously discussed...

For example, see if your doctor can change your antibiotics to one which won't harm your good bacteria. Change to a diet with less sugar and yeast. Wear only cotton underwear that isn't too tight, to help prevent the sweaty conditions that the fungus loves. Don't use scented products 'down there,' which actually encourages fungal growth. And, avoid intercourse until your infection has been cured, as this can transfer the infection between partners.

  1. Natural Remedies for Male Yeast Infection?
My b/f and I have been playing this fun game of “pass the yeast infection” I’ve been doing the over the counter treatment and he’s been doing a similar regiem of putting Monistat (which we lovingly call Manistat) on the head of his penis etc. I recently read about a natural remedy for curing a female yeast infection which was inserting Garlic into the Vagina, worked magically as disgusting as it sounds and is cheaper than spending the 17 bucks on Monistat. He is uncircumsized (love it) and the cleanest man I’ve ever met. Soaking his member in vinigar and putting Monistat on it seems to clear up the infection, but after a month we seem to be back at square one with me running to the pharmacy and both of us sitting with an uncomfortable burn! I’ve heard there is an oral medication to cure this issue, but due to some sort of heart condition B/F can’t take it… any natural remedies I haven’t tried yet?? I mean the Garlic works amazing for me, but I can’t imagine where he’d shove it LoL! We try to be as clean as possible as we have sex on average about 4 times EVERY night so pre-bed showers always come into play. We are oober clean, I don’t douch I only use a mild “lady bits” soap on the outer parts of the vagina. I do use birth control which I’ve heard can cause Yeast issues. Any sugestions are welcome!!

    • I think it’s possible that both of you are being a tad hyper-vigilant with hygiene (important though it is!). And it sounds like you’re just constantly passing a yeast infection from one person to the other.

For both of you, perhaps the soap might be partly the cause. Some soaps are just too strong to be used on such sensitive tissues and can cause irritation, dryness, redness, soreness, and yes even yeast infections. Use an unscented mild soap or no soap at all even, that might help.

For him, just pulling back his foreskin when he showers is enough. When he’s done, he should dry the area under his foreskin gently before returning his foreskin back over the glans (penis head). It could also help if he pulls back his foreskin when he urinates, to prevent urine from remaining under his foreskin (which doesn’t help with the yeast infection).

For both of you, eating yogurt and drinking cranberry juice can help. Exercise and a balanced diet are also important in helping your bodies keep yeast infections in check. Also, you may be having sex too much too soon. 4x a day is fine, but 4x a night every night is almost just asking for trouble. And he should use a condom every time until the yeast infection clears in both of you.

  2. Male yeast infection. is there anything I can take over the counter?
My doctor diagnosed me about a month ago with a yeast infection “downstairs”. Usual symptoms – inflamed foreskin, itchy, sore to touch etc. I am hygenic so I’m not sure how I got it

She prescribed me with caneston which worked well for several weeks until everything was nearly better. Then, all of a sudden, it has come back again. Caneston doesn’t seem to be working anymore and I’ve been using it for four or five days.

Is there any other treatments I can get over the counter that may work? would caneston duo work better? Any other tips?

Do things that work for women work for men?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

  3. How did I get a male yeast infection, and why won’t it go away?!?!?!?!!!!!!?
Okay, for over a month now, I have had a male yeast infection. It started out as dry skin. I went to puerto rico, and after returning home it got a lot worse (because of the heat and humidity). At this point, it began to itch like ALL HELL. I didn’t know any better, and I didnt know it was fungal, so I scratched it vigorously thinking it was just dry skin. For a little while it felt better, but later, my penis basicly turned into a throbing red, peeling, scaling, inflamed, unGodly itchy thing that looked like a dying mushroom. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING AT ALL. I tried all different creams and moisturizeers to get the itch to go away. They made my penis more inflamed and unbearably itchy, and NO antifungals did ANYTHING. My mom must have picked up on it, because she asked what was wrong, so I told her and she asked my dad. He said it was hock itch, so he gave me a powder spray that was supposed to make it go away in a week. It only burned and made things worse, and I continued to stress that it was not jock itch, but I was afraid to say I was almost positive it was yeast. If stimulated in ANY way (ie itching, masterbating), it would have a furiously raging itching reaction that would TORTURE me all day and keep me up ALL NIGHT crying in helplessness. I had to refrain from touching it all day, or else I knew it would keep me up all night. Eventually, it had kept me up for 72 hours STRAIGHT, and was taking over my entire life. I was literally contemplating suicide, and had thoughts that i would be happier if I could have my entire lower body sawed off. I went to the doctor, and she told me it was definetely fungal, and that it looked like yeast. She prescribed me some kind of “over the counter” cream that was supposed to kill the yeast in not much more than a week. After 6 days of treatment, it was totally gone. I decided it would be okay to stimulate it(you know what I mean), so I did. Later that night, I went to see a show with my friends, and in to middle of the show, I noticed a tickling sensation. By the end, it was so itchy it took all of my dignity not to burst into tears and to just run out of the auditorium and just cut my dick off. On the way back to his moms car (in the dark), I gouged it vigorously until it pulsed and bled. I wanted to put it into a paper shredder and watch it be shredded into pieces. I went to friendly’s after the show with my friends and a few girls from his town. I was really looking forward to meeting these really girls who were in the show, but I merely ran into the bathroom and clawed my dick open. I couldn’t even think and speak rationally. After getting home, my dick looked like some poisonous mushroom that you would find in a rainforest. I was convinced that the yeast and the ungodly itch were sent to my rom the depths of hell. It felt like the devil himself had sprinkled red ants all over my crotch. After applying the cream for two more weeks, the inflamation has gone down, but the itch occasionally returns, keeping me up for days and taking away my life and sanity. Although the itch is not as consistent, my dick feels very wrinkly. The bottom of my shaft is the WORST, and it is very red, scaling, peeling, and there is brown, dead-looking peeling skin there. Last night, my balls were a little itchy after playing soccer, so I scratched them absent mindedly. The ungodly itch then cursed me suddenly that night, keeping me up until 4:30 in the morning. My balls are now VERY red, insanely itching and peeling. I don’t understand why it isnt going away, or HOW IN GODS NAME I GOT IT. I am a 14 year old boy who is circumsized, has never made sexual contact, and does not have diabetes. I don’t really posses ANY of the usual factors that would contribute to getting a male yeast infection. I have always showered twice a day, havn’t used any new soaps or lotions, and haven’t masterbated in a month and a half (besides that one time I mentioned) since a few days before I noticed the dry skin, so its not from that. I’ve basically decided that I really would rather DIE right now (i’m absolutly serious) than live with this for months or even years (like some poor souls have) with this ungodly infection, irritation, and HELL BORNE itch. God help me, how did I even get this, and WHAT CAN I DO?!?!?!??!?!!??!!?!!?

    • 1st thing is, you gotta try to relax. i have a similar problem and have had it for about 2 years now. ive seen every specialist in the country and no-one can do anything to help me. ive tried hundreds of creams, drops, tablets, herbs… nothing has helped me. in time hopefully you will get it into perspective. i took it really badly for the first few months. im not saying you wont get fixed. you’ve a better chance than i have. you still have loads of people to see and loads of things to try. you’re young. go and see the dr again. or another dr. and ask to see a skin specialist. (dermatologist.) the symptoms you are describing may be a form of eczema. breathe deeply and do your best to relax cos if you don’t, you are gonna make a permanent mess of your bits and pieces man. and when the rash goes in a few months time you could be left with some serious scars.
1)relax. 2)go and see a dr again 3)try loads of different things and be patient with them- expect things not to work each time so that you aren’t gutted every time it doesn’t work. 4)continue your normal life and try and get your bits in as healthy condition as you can make them. 5)talk to someone at home who can help you. i wouldn’t recommend sharing your problems with male or female peers. A sensible adult should hopefully settle you down. hope this has been some help to you. i know how you feel man. it’s rough and hard to not let it spoil your life for a while.

  4. i have a prescription for diflucan, not working after 3 doses even a little bit.?
male, treatment for yeast infection, pain is severe(not mild) during and after urination,i need an over the counter aid to help until i can see my urologist tomorrow, frequency is 15 minutes apart, any male with similar experience please make a suggestion.

    • It’s still kind of early to determine if the Difulcan is working or not. Antibiotics do not work by seeking out the infecting bacteria, they supplement the efforts of your own immune system. Diflucan also has to reach a certain concentration in the body to work effectively, and you just reached that point. The burning is due to the irritation of the urethra, which is something your body must heal, the medication isn’t designed to help with that. Aside from simply drinking a lot more water, you could ask the doctor to prescribe you Pyridium or you can buy it over the counter yourself. That medication helps ease the burn when people have urinary tract infections, and will also help with your discomfort. However, it turns urine bright yellow orange and the color can stain things like underwear. Primarily you will most be helped by simply drinking a lot more water, so the urine is diluted and less able to sting. People on antibiotics don’t tend to notice a lot of improvement until sometime between day 3 and 5 of the doses, so you are in the window to start feeling better. You may just need to be patient a little longer. Meantime, drink until your molars threaten to float out of your mouth.
