Penile Yeast Infection Symptoms

Yeast Infection Symptoms – 7 Penile Yeast Infection Symptoms

All over the world women (and men) are searching for natural remedies to treat their yeast infection. But why is this? What's wrong with mainstream drug-based creams, lotions, pessaries, sprays, etc?

To explain why I think this is, it's necessary to go over what causes the symptoms of a yeast infection, and, what triggers the infection in the first place...

By now, you may know that your yeast infection symptoms, are caused by a naturally occurring fungus in your body called Candida albicans. Even although we all have this fungus, it doesn't always flare-up into an infection simply because the body's friendly bacteria manages to keep it in check.

But sometimes the good bacteria haven't enough numbers to do this job effectively and you end up with an imbalance in your body, allowing the Candida fungus to grow and spread, thus causing the yeast infection symptoms. You can have an infection in most any part of the body, but in women, the most common is the vaginal area, and in men, the penile area.

So now we come to the mainstream treatment that you have probably used already or are using right now....

This form of treatment is the usual route that your doctor will take, with the medications being available over-the-counter or prescribed. And, it has to be said, that they seem to work over time. Except that, of all the women who have at least one yeast infection in their lives, around 50% will have recurring infections. So if the drugs are any good, why is this figure so high?

The answer to that could lie in that; (1) they can have pretty nasty side effects, so that some women (and men) can't take them; (2) over time the fungus can become drug-resistant; and (3) they only address the symptoms, not the root causes / triggers for yeast infections.

What are these underlying causes / triggers? Well, these are things like, diabetes, lowered immune system, antibiotic or steroid overuse, being overweight, contraception, stress, poor diet, etc.

This is why people are increasingly moving towards natural home remedies for the symptoms of yeast infection. But are these effective, and if so, why? Well let's look at several of the most popular home remedies...

NATURAL YOGURT

This is very popular and is applied to the affected area and /or consumed. So what? Well, plain natural unsweetened yogurt, with no fruit and no other additives, contains live cultures which are good bacteria. And it so happens that this bacteria is able to fight the Candida fungus in your gut and at the local infection site.

RAW GARLIC

Once again this can be applied locally and / or eaten. Garlic has proven natural antibacterial and antifungal properties which makes it an ideal and effective home remedy for yeast infection.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Unbelievably, this turns out to be an effective home remedy too. Once again, it can be applied topically as a douche and / or consumed. It has the ability to re-balance your body pH, which is a condition that helps to prevent fungal growth. But it needs to be raw, un-distilled and unpasteurized.

Many women have successfully used these natural remedies for yeast infection. They could do the trick for you too. Now, I haven't discussed here how to prepare and use them, the purpose of this article was only to look at whether home remedies for yeast infection symptoms were effective or not.

  1. Anyone have advice for my penile yeast infection?
Im 21 years old male and i have a penile yeast infection that i cant get rid of. I’ve had it for 16months now and it reoccurs very often. I got infected through unprotected sex with a female. I started useing canesten 5 months after initial infection and that didnt do anything. Then the doctor gave me ketoderm to apply once for 2-4 weeks and that works but the yeast infection symptoms reoccur around 7+ days after i stop useing it especially red blemishes on the penis head. I have not been on any antibiotics. I have been drinking alcohol on a weekend basis and it seems that can be feeding the infection. I am uncircumcised and i would like some advice on treating this further because its getin to the point where its affecting my mental state and everyday life. Any adivice on diet or other remmedies would be great. thanks

    • if you really want to get rid of yeast infection then you must follow these tips:

      1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

      2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

      3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

      4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

      5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

      6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

      7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore…

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Yeastrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.mybeautynhealth.com/product/overview/Yeastrol/

      good luck!

  2. can you treat a penile yeast infection with garlic too?
I have been using the garlic treatment for a yeast infection and its working well, it doesnt burn anymore and the discharge is getting back to normal. But my husband is complaining of symptoms, is there a way to use garlic on him?

    • Hey I understand what you mean.
Monistat didn’t work for me.. my doctor prescribed me meds and it made even worst!
Despite when it manage to heal, the yeast infection will come back again (means it’s not fully cured).
I realized the only real cure for Yeast infection is doing the natural way so it won’t come back again!

This website on Yeast Infection will help you. I had a Yeast Infection a few weeks back and that website gave many good details. I got the book and it helped me cure my Yeast Infection within 10 hours without the use of drugs!

It was featured in the Oprah show before! Oprah Winfrey praised the product and was featured in her book club!

  3. Do men have symptoms with penile yeast infection?
The only symptom is red patchy places on the penis and some dry/flaky skin. There is no itching, burning, or pain when urinating. The red patches have been present for about two weeks. Could it be a yeast infection or something else?

    • The symptoms and signs of a yeast infection vary according to the equipment. If you are intact(uncircumcised) you are apt to have itching, redness and excess moisture under your foreskin. If you are circumcised, the yeast may confine itself to red patches and some puckered dry, shiny areas on your glans. If you want to make your own diagnosis, get some antifungal cream and apply it to your glans twice a day for two weeks. Don’t wash with antibacterial soap because it may inhibit the growth of friendly bacteria that keep yeast-like forms from proliferating.
There is no urgency about treatment but if the cream does not help try to see your doctor . Yeast thrives in warm moist areas like the penis, behind the scrotum and around your perineum.

  4. How can i tell if i have a penile yeast infection?
Part of my glans and shaft and red and sore with small little pimple like specs. Is this like to be a yeast infection? I don’t really have any other symptoms other than feeling really tired with a sore throat. If so, are there any effective home remedies, or can I let it sort itself out? Thanks

  5. Penile Yeast Infection treatments.?
Hello, about 4 days ago my bf and I had sexual intercourse and the very next day we both seem to have gotten a yeast infection. I’ve had them before so I know I have it, but during the 7 years Ive been with my bf, this is the first time Ive seen him have one. His head is red and theres a rash on it that he says is itchy. Around the ring of his head is dry and peeling. He says it hurts when he pulls his skin back (he IS circumcised) Im assuming he has a Penile Yeast infection from the symptoms Ive looked up, problem is, I cant find anything on treatments. We cant afford to go to a doctor as we just went for me because I had Pharyngitis and they prescribed me meds, so were still payin for that (no insurance or money) I usually drink water and cranberry juice for my yeast infections but what are some home treatments that work for MALE yeast infections. I would like some advice from the male part since you guys would know best if uve had one before. But any advice is wanted
I just feel bad for him :( it looks horrible and painful. And hes scrubbing it with a wash cloth making the skin look raw. which I dont think is helping.

    • I had the same thing before, and my doctor prescribed me an over the counter topical cream. It’s called Clotrimazole 1%, this cream which is also used for athletes foot. You don’t have to buy the expensive brand, I have learned, everything is the same, just with brand names. Cheapest one should cost you about 5-6 bucks. Hope this answer helps you…

(just apply it to the affected area, don’t rub it in like lotion, just apply it, but in a even layer)
